When you’re as old as me, you’ll understand what I’m saying.
I just thought that was cute.
Kerica was very good. I loved the whole "embrace your emotional center" stuff.
I'm still not thrilled that Zach and Erica are wisdom and Kendall is insecure emotional silliness, but whatever. Any scene where Kendall has expressed her fears could have been better and shown 100x more depth if someone, anyone, admitted that Kendall is not a nutjob or a paranoid freak based on the oft-recognized and overblown BFF of Zach and Greenlee. And while Erica had the right amount of "OMG" at Zach walking out on Kendall, it could have used a dash of "Well, I'm not saying he was right to walk away from you, because after all you've been through when he was missing, you didn't deserve to feel that way again, BUT..." Again, these are writing choices that should have been made.
Carrie and Samantha--oops, I mean Zach and Greenlee--were almost harmless. I guess they were cute as they skipped along, exchanging recipes and sharing cosmos as they talked about the men in their lives. But I'm not a fan of "Sure", said as Zach looked off into the water, as Zach's answer to Greenlee's question as to whether he forgave Kendall. It's yes or no, preferably said when one looks in the other's eyes. "Sure" made me think that he wants to but he really hasn't, and if that's what AMC is saying, then tell that story. Don't have Kendall sweat bullets that the next screwup is the last if Zach isn't really "sure" he's forgiven Kendall.
And just so I'm clear, every bit of dialogue from Erica to Kendall, and from Greenlee to Zach afterwards, seemed to confirm that he has forgiven her. "Sure" was just way too odd for me and stuck out like a Lily scene after months and months without one. (Bye, Lily. I'm not going to miss you.)
Kendall's outfil was beautiful today. The dress she was wearing to prison. I hope she wears that after the tennis game too.
I loved the dress, what little I could see of it. And I cheered when Erica pointed out that Opal would never treat her that way. Kendall brushed that off and it made me sad. It makes me wonder if she doesn't think she deserves true friendship.
Erica/Kendall - Loved them! Erica is exactly what Kendall needed. She was supportive and loving, but honest and wise too. Viva la Kane! Erica was just beyond fantastic today, and that was in large part due to the fact that she is the only--the ONLY--person in PV to have avoided Greenleefication. Watching AMC is like watching Invasion of the Body Snatchers sometimes, and it seems like Erica's the last holdout. Sigh. GO, ERICA!!! "Do you see Opal treat me like this?" and "Greenlee is so transparent." Could she have been any more dead on? (Oh, and I'm pissed that they stole her show out from under her, but she'll just have to get a new beginning--how much did you love that Sam uses that phrase now too?) Kendall seemed to be a little more aware today, logical, and open to suggestions. Good sign. But then, what she walked in on wasn't exactly helpful in her newfound quest for zen/Zen.
Zach/Greenlee - So many WTFs, so little time. Okay, half the time, I end up shouting at my TV, so I miss the dialogue, but from what I did see . . . Zach is insane if he thinks Greenlee is anybody's friend, especially his or Kendall's. There seemed to be a few important bits to the conversation today:
-Zach reminded Greenlee that she said she could forgive anybody anything if she loved them enough. She can't forgive Aidan, therefore doesn't love him enough. Aidan loved her more than she ever loved him. (Therefore Greenlee shouldn't really be all that mad at Kendall and Kendall shouldn't really feel all that guilty when it comes to the Greenlee half of the equation, right?)
-Zach asked if she was using this as an excuse not to marry Aidan, and she claimed it wasn't very weakly. (If he doesn't see that she's just a manipulative bitch, then I don't know what is going on inside his head.)
-Zach asked how Greenlee would feel if it had been someone other than Kendall, and Greenlee said, "but it wasn't. It was my best friend, your wife" or something to that effect. (Zach should see that Greenlee is all about jealousy of Kendall, punishing Kendall, and ruining Kendall's marriage. For the love of god, Zach, open your eyes to what's right in front of you!!!)
-Zach wanted to know if Greenlee was over Aidan or just wanted people to think she was over him. She acted as if Aidan meant nothing to her and was downright giddy after sex with Josh. (Dear lord, someone please save Josh! Why can't he ever be romantically involved with someone in a healthy relationship--Dani was a minor, Babe was Babe, Hannah was a psycho, and now Greenlee?!?!? If Zach can't see that Greenlee isn't actually hurting about Aidan, but about losing something to Kendall, then he seriously needs some one-on-one with PV's resident counselor, Erica "I haven't been Greenleefied and I never will" Kane.)
Oh, yeah, I gotta say I was absolutely livid when Zach brought Greenlee beignet. WTF was that?!?!? He brought Kendall beignets from Henri's after Ian was born, and now he's fetching them for Greenlee?!?!?!? Who writes this ish?!?!?! Other things that disgusted me included the not-so-sure "sure" reply Zach gave about whether he'd forgiven Kendall or not--even if he has issues with that, you don't expose your weak underbelly to the Green Monster--and the whole "we're gonna work on that" about getting Greenlee to smile more. Ugh. And that "playful" ish at the end really, really, really made me want to hurl. As for Zach getting ready to blow up, I just hope he blows up at the right person and this doesn't mean yet more angst for Zen. (With these writers, you never know.)
Jesse/Sam - Their convo was a little repetitive, but the fact that Jesse looks to be the new sheriff in town, so to speak, is awesome! Derek is so inept!
Ryan/Angie/Jake - How many excuses do they need to trot out for Ryan to go shirtless? Anyway, what I really took away from those scenes was the snark radiating off of Jake. Whoa! That was so funny. I mean, dude put the smack down on Angie about never talking to him like that in front of a patient! Ha!
Jacakass/Lily - Well, they officially said that Ava no longer lives in PV and Lily will be gone soon. I'm gonna miss her, I guess. The Ava thing really ruined her a lot for me. Jackass treated her like a four-year-old and I was sickened. He is so dead to me in every relationship he has. Ugh. Did anyone else notice though, that Lily never mentioned Greenlee as part of her family that she's gonna miss?
Annie/Richie - Okay, Richie was freakin' fantastic, and I'm sad that Billy Miller is leaving the show. Really. They screwed his character over big time by making him another victim of the Greenlee "redemption" bus--he never would have hit Zach and left him if it hadn't been required for HoR. Ugh.
Whew, sorry such a long post today. I had my last final this morning at eight, so I'm free!!!
GO TEAM SLATER!!!!
P.S. Kendall/Greenlee would not being playing tennis together. Plot contrivance much? I've been hit in the eye with a tennis ball. It hurts, but it's not that bad. Greenlee deserves far worse. And if it's a serve that gets her, it's really her own damn fault for not paying attention.
Today's show pissed me off.
Zach has been treating greenlee more as his wife then his ACTUAL wife.
Why doesn't zach joke around like that with kendall?
Why doesn't zach buy breakfast for kendall anymore?
He's been spending his money for food on greenlee more than he does on kendall.
I just really need for Kendall to Kick the Dead Weight out of her life......
