Here's a new Nelson Branco article.

“I’m mostly influenced by the fact that I grew up watching soaps, so I basically write stories I’d watch. Being a fan, I want to write for the viewers we have. Of course, we’d like new viewers, but I think most important is holding onto the viewers who’ve watched, some for 40 years.” —Outstanding Writing winner, OLTL head writer Ron Carlivati, on his creative process |

DUDE! And that is why the show is great! They were robbed of best show because they don't pull stunts like GH.

I've been reading the scoops for the next two weeks for GH, and I gotta say, they are doing the same story for Carly/Jax/Sonny/Kate that AMC did for Kendall/Zach/Aidan/Greenlee earlier this year, and I mean exactly the same, and I'm wondering what moment of sheer desperation led Guza to copy B&E with a storyline that pleased absolutely no one, especially the fans and viewers.
Meanwhile, I have my problems with OLTL, I admit, but Bree Williamson is completely convincing me that Jess is devasted at Nash's death, and they have the guts to have Jess hate her sister right now, rather than gloss over her acts as AMC did with Kenlee. If they can stick to the stories that don't cater to the need for happy happy joy joy, but stay with sisters as enemies, and tell the story with some degree of realism, I'll be watching OLTL for awhile.

Seriously, how did this boy get under Frons’ radar? This could only happen on the bastard child that is OLTL.
I watched Jess today and that has got to be one of the best depictions of grief I’ve seen in a while. All the memories flooding back, flash after flash, until it’s too overwhelming to stand. Damn near cried in the lunch room.

Oh yeah, Krissy. The last five minutes of OLTL were absolutely fabulous. You can see Jess crumbling right before your very eyes. That's how you incorporate flashbacks into an episode. Just damn.
I really wish someone would let RC be headwriter for both AMC and OLTL. Just think.... two solid hours of soapy goodness once again.

Jules you are so right about GH and it's making me sick. My hate for Sonny is right up there with my hate for Ryan both of whom have robbed two good shows of good story telling because it always has to be about them. If Guza had to pick a show to copy from he picked the wrong show. I don't get why OLTL doesn't have this problem. It has never catered to one particular character like GH and AMC. Yes there is way too much Todd but the show has always been more balanced.
Now I see why RC is so good, he really loves and appreciates soaps for what they are because he grew up watching them. The teens on OLTL are so realistic whereas on GH and AMC they don't know what to do with them. I can't remember the last good teen story on GH or AMC.
There is absolutely no way that GH should have won best show. I never could understand how a show that wins for writing doesn't win for best show. It doesn't make any sense since the writing is what makes the show.
I've notice there are promos for OLTL and GH together but nothing for AMC. I guess if you can't say anything good don't say anything.

The OLTL and GH promo targets those out of school since it highlights the younger pairings. AMC doesn't have any established pairings in that category.
I laugh every time I see it since both Kirsten and Farah, who were on DOOL, and now they are having the hell pimped out of them on ABC. I'm sure the NBC brass just love that.

This is random, but the identity of the woman who plays Ramsey's maid, the woman caring for Marty, has been driving me nuts, lol. I knew her face from somewhere, and it turns out, I knew her from OLTL.
She's Janet Zarish, and she played annoying Mari Lynn Dennison's mother in the late 80's. I didn't remember much about the character until I read her storyline history at the link I posted below, but I did remember her face. And annoying, perfect, blonde Mari Lynn.
