'All My Children' casino guy Zach puts chips on the table

"All My Children" fans finally get the moment they've been waiting for next week when Zach lays down the law to Kendall about their marriage.

"He takes her away to a beach house and confronts her," says Thorsten Kaye, who plays the wealthy casino owner. "Of course, she turns it around: 'You're the one who always walks away!' That's not true. Zach is just trying to be a family man. That's a new thing for him. But Kendall is all, 'Ryan this, Aidan that,' and that is not working for Zach."

In fact, the more Kendall brings up her former lovers, the angrier Zach gets.

"With Kendall, it's always what Ryan needs. Zach says, 'Well, what about what we need as a family?' It's not an ultimatum. It's just getting to the point where he's going to have to say, 'If you need to be with all these other people, then maybe we have to take a harder look at you and me. Why do you have to be the one to fix all these people?'"

Good question.

"Kendall's problem is that she wants everyone to like her," answers Kaye. "I don't think she really wants to be with Ryan, but she can't handle the fact that Ryan has moved on from her."

He's juggling Annie and Greenlee, and keeping Kendall at arm's length.

"Ryan needs to make a decision," scoffs Kaye. "'If you want to be with Greenlee, go be with Greenlee. If you want to be with Annie, be with Annie. You're not in high school anymore. You've got kids.' There's a lot to think about."

Zach is done thinking, and decides to convince Kendall in bed.

"Sex is always good, but it doesn't fix the problems. Zach is tired of just being Kendall's husband. It's not enough. He used to have casinos and big companies.

By the end of the week, though, Kendall comes around to Zach's way of thinking.

"Zach says to her, 'It's only us. That's all we have," says Kaye, adding with a laugh, 'We're not 18 anymore. We're 23."

I'm not taking this too seriously, for so many reasons, and there were parts of it I liked (I'm hiding under my desk now). But one of my reasons is that AMC can have Zen argue and Zex it up till the cows come home, Kian/Zian/Zenian/ZenSpIan scenes are not a high priority to this show. So this whole "Focus on your family" stuff falls flat to me because it's so not what AMC is focused on.

Last time we saw Kian or Team Slater was June 3, folks. June bloody 3rd. GMAB.

There is no difference except TK and CH are really good at only pointing out non Zach faults. When either talks about faults they don't really means Zach's because he supposedly has none - he's always right, he always knows what's what, just perfect.

Even in the article. It goes from poor Zach just wants to be a family man and bad Kendall is getting in the way of his dream to basically family's not enough for poor Zach, he's suffocated as Kendall's husband. I'm just rolling my eyes.

I'm fine with them having sex, but I really rather it go unresolved and we don't get the Kendall agreeing to anything til after the Josh thing settles. Zach honey, Kendall has a big heart just like you and she could insinuate herself to Ryan or Greenlee just because she CAN.

I think Zach wants Kendall to insinuate herself to Zach just a little more, and from what TK is saying, she is going to insinuate herself to Zach all night long. I would hope that Kendall will point out to Zach that he needs to insinuate himself to Kendall a little more, too.

ITA Jules and I am wondering just how much of that interview was edited by CH, whose agenda has been very clear in all her interviews with TK.

I for one am not happy with Kendall’s deep involvement with Ryan and Greenlee, because both of them have been nothing but abusive to her and have not appreciated her love and caring. They have used and abused Kendall in the past and Ryan still emotionally abuses her to this day. Zach is the only one who has stood by Kendall and loved her unconditionally. However, I agree with Jules and hope that Kendall does bring up all the times Zach has been involved in helping women at the expense of their relationship....psycho Annie being his latest project.

I think you all make really good points.
