Title: GOLD STAR....
Description: praising the Lish!

THEDIRTYONE - August 12, 2007 02:53 AM (GMT)
Since I haven't seen it in the magazines yet, I'd like to give out my own personal Gold Star to my girl Lish for her outstanding performances as Kendall Hart Slater during this storyline. For an actress who is not a mother in real life, Alicia found something within herself to tap into to pull out one amazing scene after another and breaking our hearts in the process. I've always thought Alicia to be a brilliant actress but in the last few weeks, having been handed this storyline, she has taken it that one extra step and blown us all away.

In the five years she has been on the show, she has taken Kendall from a spoiled bad girl (although we all knew she had a heart of gold LOL) to a grown up mature wife and mother who loves so deeply that it crushes her spirit when the people she loves are hurt. Alicia is able to play all the emotions Kendall feels from tough to vulnerable, from nasty to nice, from insecure to showing her strength when she is threatened (or those she loves) and it's a pleasure to watch.

I want to take one more moment to give her special props for the Friday, August 10th episode. It's not often that actors are given the chance to break the fourth wall in character and with some actors it will show their flaws because they have to show you what their character is feeling staring right into the camera lens, basically right into the eyes of the audience. They have to be able to touch you. Well Alicia did that and more. She let us right into Kendalls soul and didn't flinch. She literally made the camera disappear and it was like Kendall was right in our living rooms, bedrooms, dens, wherever it is you watch. She was crying out for help and you just wanted to throw your arms around her and make her pain go away. It was breathtaking.

So here is a Gold Star for Alicia Minshew, Brilliant Actress and Wonderful Human Being. Thank you for giving us Kendall.

With Love and Admiration
Heidi

ABSOLUTELY!!! I couldn't agree with your entire post more.

Her performances throughout this entire story have been outstanding, and I can only hope that her peers will recognize her performances next year come Emmy time.

Everything you said was right on!

She's been nothing but outstanding throughout this entire story!

GREAT JOB, ALICIA!

AM has been giving EMMY PERFORMANCES during this whole storyline. I have been waiting for the magazines to acknowledge this!!! I think it is going to be extremely hard for her to select which clip she wants to be considered for the Emmy!!! In my eyes they all have been just OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with everything everyone has said, Alicia is exceptional and a delight to watch. All of her performances lately have been emmy worthy. I can only hope she is given the opportunity to chose a clip.

Alicia, you totally ROCK and i love you as Kendall Hart Slater

AM's performance in yesterday's episode, where she comforted Greenlee, was out of this world. She was amazing. The realm of emotion that she captured was brilliant. She keeps me wanting more - to see how much further she can go! I was totally capivated by her.

Yesterday's performance is a must add to the emmy reel...her reel would be incomplete with out it!!!!

WORD!

AM emotes so beautifully and realistically that it's hard to believe that it's just acting! She is definitely one of the most (if not the most!) exceptional actresses on AMC and has been doing truly stellar work of late. Yesterday's scenes were outstanding, and that was entirely due to AM and her talent!

I have seen no one that could possibly touch her come Emmy time - I just hope her character gets some happy scenes soon that could be added to the reel too! :D

First, let me say AM has been terrific. I can feel her every emotion. I can't imagine being in her circumstance. :)

Several Zendall fans have been critical of Kendall for not being with Ian more often and for being upset with Zach today.

We need to wait and see what happens before condemning her. Kendall has been spiriling down for some time now. She is scared. She doesn't know where she should be. She feels like she deserted Spike when she gave him to Greenlee so she could take care of her unborn child. Now everytime she leaves him, she feels as if she's deserting him all over again -- plus Greenlee keeps showing up.

She needs for Spike to hear so he can hear her say "I love you". Since he can't hear her, she feels as though he blames her for his problems. We know she blames herself.

Kendall loves, Zach, Spike and Ian. She would not want to hurt any of them. :)

Lish has done an outstanding job showing that Kendall is on the brink of a breakdown.

Kendall is not consciously choosing Spike over Ian, I believe she actually believes she can do more for Spike right now, but just can't comprehend how much Ian needs her as well.

I've seen Kendall's mental state deteriorating before my eyes, Zach has been spreading himself thin going back and forth between Ian/Spike.Kendall, and hasn't seen Kendall is falling apart at the seams.

I can't wait to see next weeks scenes, both Zach and Kendall will be reaching their breaking points, once reached I think it will finally start to get better.

I am putting my money on next week's episodes. I am looking forward to seeing Zach confront Kendall on her actions/behavior toward Ian.

AM and TK are certain to ROCK these scenes.
