Title: Did Y & R rip off Kendall's Coma Story?

I don't watch Y & R regularly. Since it started on SoapNet, I maybe watch one episode a month. I happened to catch part of an episode last night and it seems to me this story of Victoria being in trouble and Nikki and Victor fighting over how to treat her is a copy of Kendall/Spike/Zach from last year. She's pregnant I think, she was in a parking garage that collapsed, and her loved ones are disagreeing on how to treat her.
Lame.

That's not all Y&R has ripped off. After the collapse, people were trapped within little caverns beneath the rubble (Mardi Gras Ball). Then after Victoria escaped unharmed some construction debris fell on top of her and put her into a coma (Kendall coma). She also has two men by her side. J.T., who loves her unconditionally, and Brad, the soon to be ex-husband if not already. The only original part of the story is who the baby's daddy is. And that's not all that original. :P
They've also had a murderer who's been found to have a brain tumor (Jonathan). The difference is that girl is in prison.
So to all those people who say that Y&R is fabulous, I say I've seen all their stories before.

LOL...you've summed it up nicely Shurl. The only thing the Y&R does originally is they actually follow Real Time. I think that Victoria and Brad are still in the divorce process. Otherwise, not so much. I wonder what made them look at AMC and go WOW that was some really good stuff there! Let's use it!

That’s why I get confused when people talk about how wonderful Y&R is. I have, until about a year ago, watch Y&R for 16 years. And the Y&R I see on occasion these days is not the same great Y&R it used to be. I have been saying for a while now, that they copy off the ABCD soaps. I was just telling a friend that the Victoria’s coma was a copy off of the Kendall’s coma story. From someone who has watched Y&R for over 16 years I can say that it is not all that great a soap, at least not like it used to be.

Thanks ladies. I just wanted to confirm. I'm sending e-mails to all the mags about how they ripped off Kendall's coma story and how GH ripped off Zach background story for Johnny Zacarra.
It seems Johnny witnessed his mother's death at the heads of his crazy father. Johnny was about at the time and sort of repressed the memory. Now Johnny's crazy Daddy is roaming the streets of Port Charles killing innocent women. Sound familiar. They even had a flashback of Zach (oops) Johnny as a little boy recalling the memory.
If AMC is so bad, why is everyone stealing from them?

I don't watch other soaps normally, but I happened to be at home during Y&R the other day and flipped into it right when they were doing the coma thing. Yeah, that was definitely ripped off and not done nearly as well, IMO. I mean, what was up with the silk pillow? And, I don't know, but the acting seemed kinda cheesy to me.
Plus, it was kinda weird since it was Mia. It always cracks me up when AMC people show up on other soaps. Isn't David on Y&R too? Sigh, I miss David.
A little off topic here, but speaking of characters that I miss . . . there a bunch of old clips going up on youtube right now from the Michael Cambias murder trial days of 2003 so there's:
Gone now: David, Reggie, Brooke, etc.
Vets: Palmer, Opal, Stuart, Marion, etc.
DEADTOME pre-DEADTOME status: Jack, Aidan, etc.
It's awesome. Plus, excellent Kendall stuff when she was fake preggo and protecting Bianca!
