Kendall is finally enjoying a reprieve from sick babies, missing husbands and grief sex. Alicia Minshew (Kendall) dishes the return of off-screen pal Rebecca Budig (Greenlee) and the new vibe at Fusion.Weekly: What was it like to return to Fusion with Rebecca?
Minshew: It was fun. I was starting to get a little emotional, because there was a true history of something we went through together.
Weekly: Was it nice to tape a light-hearted scene aftar all those months of depressing storylines?
Minshew: We had typical Greenlee/Kendall scenes, which are always fun. I got to act silly and put a little sombrero on my head and try to get Greenlee in a festive mood. So of course every take I did something completely stupid and Rebecca laughed at me. It was the same old silly antics. It was a nice welcome back for her.
Weekly: The other girls are all new to Fusion. How is the chemistry?
Minshew: We were all comfortable the second we started doing our scenes. It was easy. All of us got along instantly. There was no weirdness, no attitude -- just a bunch of cool girls who want to enjoy each other.
Weekly: Was it weird not having Alexa Havins (ex-Babe) there?
Minshew: I definitely felt like something was missing. The two
people who were missing were Alexa and Teri (Ivens, ex-Simone). She is so her own person and such a different character. Amanda (Baker, nuBabe) is doing a great job. I work with her and Chrishell (Stause, Amanda), and I always look forward to it because they're fun. It's refreshing to have scenes where Kendall is not whining or crying about something, where I can actually be a businesswoman and have camaraderie with the girls.
Weekly: How was it finally seeing Melissa Clair Egan (Annie) and Rebecca side by side?
Minshew: It was interesting, because there
is a resemblance. There were a few times where Melissa would be walking, and from behind I thought it was Rebecca for a second. I remember having a scene when Melissa first came to
AMC in which I said, "You remind me of this girl," and Kendall showing Annie a picture of Greenlee saying, "Yeah, this is Ryan's ex. I guess he's attracted to the same type!"
