Outstanding Performer for the week of Nov. 28
Forget walnuts and cranberries, Kendall’s Thanksgiving turkey on All My Children was stuffed with lies and deceit, garnished by a delectable performance by Alicia Minshew.
When Greenlee accused Kendall of being pregnant with her own child instead of Greenlee’s, Minshew’s subtle reaction was key as she displayed Kendall’s shock at the truth coming out with her eyes alone. “It’s true,” she croaked at last.
The actress took a telling deep breath before Kendall explained that inseminating herself was the only way to give Greenlee Ryan’s baby. “When this child is born, he’ll be my gift to you”, she cried.
Minshew was masterful in her lengthy monologue. Her eloquent facial expressions conveyed that Kendall’s actions made perfect sense-to Kendall- but that her heart was breaking that Greenlee was blinded to her intentions.
After Greenlee and Ryan retreated, Kendall’s family attacked her. Minshew’s chin quivered, exposing Kendall’s vulnerability, but she held back any cascade of tears to cling to her character’s tough exterior.
Refusing defeat, Kendall went to Greenlee and Ryan to beg them to understand. Desperation echoed in Minshew’s voice, but there was no getting through to Greenlee, who impulsively decided to skip town.
As Greenlee drove out of her life, Minshew let Kendall’s composure slip, but didn’t break down. Instead, Minshew zeroed in on Kendall’s anger. When Ryan lashed out, Minshew fought back fiercely. “This all started because you broke her heart”, Kendall declared, pointing a trembling finger at her ex-lover. “Everything I did, I did because I love her. And if you can’t understand that, then you can rot in hell”.
Finally alone, Minshew collapsed in tears as a broken Kendall was left believing she had nothing to be thankful for anymore. Viewers, however, can give thanks that the talented Minshew will be around to play out this story and continue spicing things up. -EB

Greenlee tells everyone present for Thanksgiving dinner that Kendall betrayed her and is not carrying her and Ryan's baby but Kendall and Ryan's. Greenlee breaks Kendall's heart by not believing that she did this for her and walks out leaving Kendall heartbroken.
