I originally spotted this over at ZnK. Thanks for the link donna.

Sex and the City Full Length Trailer

If you watch the related clips that come afterward you can see a behind the scenes clip of them taping the wedding scenes.

I am so torn about this movie. Maybe I'll wait and let someone else watch it first and tell me whether or not it's safe to go in. lol

John James Preston. LMAO. I about died on the Series Finale to find out after all that time that Mr. Big's name was John.

LOL...I know! I liked the mystery of him just being big. It is kinda like when Kramer's name was revealed on Seinfeld. I preferred just knowing Kramer.

I'll probably watch the movie though. Chris Noth did say that not everything was as it appeared. That could be because a lot had been leaked about the movie but I'm going to take him at his word. Maybe I can get my sister to go with me since the baby will be a month old by then...LOL

Kristine - February 25, 2008 05:53 PM (GMT)
DUDE!!!

The Steve part? Oh. My. GOD.

And I hate Big *ducks* so my expectations are probably a little different than most people. LOL.

I need to find some girls to go with me. Otherwise, it’s Krissy in the theatre by herself. Unless you count the tub of popcorn.

TY Donna and J!!!

Jermetria - February 25, 2008 06:00 PM (GMT)
DUDE! How could you NOT like Big? He was the bestestest!! I liked Carrie with Aidan too. So if she couldn't have Big I would have taken Aidan. I AM THAT JOHN CORBETT Fan!!!!!!!!!!!!

You know, I could answer that question, but it might damage our friendship. You know, maybe it wasn’t so much Big as it was their relationship. But, like I said, this could get ugly fast, so I’ll stop right here. :)

Now Aidan? He was super awesome fantastic. Love, love, love him.

ETA: Oh, and there’s a person listed in the cast on the movie’s Wikipedia page who doesn’t appear in the trailer. It might be common knowledge, but it surprised me.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sex_and_the_City:_The_Movie

(last cast member on the list)

Jermetria - February 25, 2008 06:29 PM (GMT)
LOL...I can accept that. And no I didn't know that he was in the movie although I do remember him from the final season.

Crystal - February 25, 2008 06:32 PM (GMT)
Oh wifey........ How could you NOT love Big? *sigh*

I’m telling you… you do not want me to answer that question!

ETA: KO, for the record, is Big a very charming, charismatic guy? Absofuckinglutely. I actually really like Chris Noth. And he’s far better than Petrovsky. But, yeah. Don’t like him.

ETA2: Maybe the movie will change my mind. But judging from the trailer, I’m not too optimistic. He is, in many ways, perfect for Carrie. And now I’ll stop. :P

donna515 - February 25, 2008 08:50 PM (GMT)
EEE!!! I found my peepuls! I knew you all were SATC fans. You just had to be.

I cannot wait to see this movie. I love Chris Noth. Love, love, love him. But Big was/is a selfish, childish prick. Carrie would have been much better off with Aidan (eww, that name now has completely new meaning. ewww)even if he was kind of a bore. But Chris Noth? Damn. Anytime, anywhere. :)

Damn, I can't wait. I may have to have a SATC marathon just to get ready.

I heart you, Donna. I watched the preview at work with some fellow SATC fans, and when that phone dropped one guy said, “Wouldn’t it be great if Aidan walked by at that very moment?” Dude, he could pick up the phone, hand it back to her, and walk away.

Wow, that would be great, Krissy. Aiden was always a shmuck for Carrie, poor thing, so I was glad they let us see that he was happy when Carrie saw him with the baby. He deserved that much.

See, the thing is, I loved Carrie/Big at first. It was after the whole marriage/affair thing that I thought they just needed to be done with each other. They're way too much alike for it to last.

That said, they better not kill Big.

Cheryl - February 25, 2008 10:17 PM (GMT)
The biggest reason I'm afraid to see this movie, is that I don't really want a fairytale wedding for Carrie and Big.

I'm like J, I loved Carrie and Aidan, but really, she didn't deserve him. She treated him like crap. And I also felt really badly for Natasha (Bridget Moynahan) because Big treated her like crap as well. The show really bothered me at that point because my two favorites were shown as not really nice people. I think it was Charlotte that got me through that point of the show.

Carrie and Big deserve each other by default and to me I would prefer to just see them together than actually married.

Jermetria - February 26, 2008 01:10 AM (GMT)
My sentiments exactly Shurl. I do think they will be together but they won't get married or they'll have a smaller wedding or something. I really don't think they'd have this big production just to break them up.

But yeah, John Corbett should have been in the movie too. He is after all Steve's business partner.

creehart - February 26, 2008 01:25 AM (GMT)
I loved Aidan too. I agree with you Cheryl. Carrie did treat Aidan like crap.

I loved Charlotte and Samantha. I wonder if Samantha is still with the young guy she was with at the end of SATC.

And Steve cheating?!

I hope to have a girls only night, watch the movie and drank. Otherwise, I'm dragging Chad to it.

Dude, the episode when Carrie just *had* to apologize to Natasha and Natasha told her off? Loved that.

If Carrie and Big had a ONS, I could have dealt with it. But that was a huge fucking affair. And we had to listen to her bitch and moan about how horrible a person she was so Miranda and Samantha could tell her she wasn't evil. So much hate!

Charlotte's my girl. "That's our baby!" *weeps uncontrollably*

Jermetria - February 26, 2008 01:35 AM (GMT)
LOL...I don't know, I guess I have ho tendencies because Samantha was my girl followed by Miranda.

I remember laughing my ass off at Carrie being humiliated when some guy at the hotel where she was meeting Big thought she was a hooker. She deserved that. And then that shit with Natasha finding her in her home and chasing her out and then falling down the stairs. Yikes.

I loved Charlotte. She was like the lone voice of sanity, the sweetest one, and she always got stuck with the losers until Harry.

Actually, I liked all of them, just not all the time. The mark of a well written show, I think.

Cheryl - February 26, 2008 03:48 AM (GMT)
OMG. Harry. How I love him. I love how Charlotte was absolutely repulsed by this man but fell head over heels in love with him. And remember when he waxed his back? So.Funny.

Hee!

The proposal episode was the best. “All that’s left are the fatties and the baldies,” as Charlotte starts frantically looking for hers.

Smith was awesome, too. Shaving his head, being there when Samantha cheated with Richard in the elevator… and when he came back from the movie shoot in the middle of the night to tell her he loved her. “You came all this way just to tell me that?” “Can you think of a better reason?”

*sigh*

And Stanford!EEE! I love Stanford.

wildwindlaurie - February 26, 2008 10:32 PM (GMT)
Loved Aidan and Carrie. I didn't warm up to Big and Carrie, until the last season really.

Loved Harry & Charlotte, Smith & Samantha and Steve & Miranda

I want to see the movie...I just hope all the girls are with their guys at the end.

Crystal - February 27, 2008 01:01 AM (GMT)
You guys are seriously making me want to re-watch all the seasons. I swear I just did that 6mos ago when Hollywood video had a special going on. SATC never gets old.

I actually own two sets of season one. LMAO! That's a tale of when ebay bidding goes wrong... lol I might have to take you up on those other seasons tho. I love that freakin show.

I'm resurrecting this thread because I just saw this about the movie, at the new Soapnet page.

"Sex and the City" Shocker!
April 18, 2008 5:40 PDT By Adrianne Stone

Drama is nothing new to "Sex and the City," but it looks like the movie version will give us a real shocker. In an interview with Billy Eichner during the "Creation Nation" comedy show at New York's Zipper Theater on April 15, co-star Cynthia Nixon let slip that "a character dies in the movie" when talking about the series' big-screen follow-up, opening May 30.

She added that the event leaves Carrie (played by Sarah Jessica Parker) grief-stricken. "There's a loss that happens that's pretty tough," Cynthia said. "Something significant happens to Carrie, and it really forces her to ask questions that you have to ask about yourself."

So, who is it? Clearly, it's not Carrie. That leaves Cynthia's Miranda, Kristin Davis's Charlotte, Kim Cattrall's Samantha, or hottie Chris Noth's Mr. Big. Bloggers have run amok with the news, with New York magazine's Daily Intel theorizing that Charlotte bites the dust in a freak tennis accident: because it "can't think of a reason not to kill Charlotte." Ouch!

Others wonder if it may be Mr. Big, whose passing would force Carrie to reflect upon her past before possibly spiriting away with a new guy.

Too bad for us that Cynthia, 42 -- who knows a thing or two about keeping secrets, having stayed mum about her successful fight against breast cancer for nearly two years -- realized her mistake and refused to say any more.

They're going to kill Big, aren't they?

Cheryl - April 24, 2008 03:41 PM (GMT)
If they do kill Big there will be riots in the streets.

I heard this last week and there was a rumor that Charlotte dies in childbirth.

Jermetria - April 24, 2008 04:09 PM (GMT)
I would hate for it to be any of them but it would be a kick in the ass if it were Charlotte. What if they killed Samantha? She did have cancer, maybe it comes back.

Kristine - April 24, 2008 05:21 PM (GMT)
I just assumed it would be Big, especially judging from the trailer (i.e. that's the news that makes her drop the phone?)

If it’s Charlotte, I will be pissed. And if it’s during childbirth? Monumentally pissed.

ETA: Don’t think it would be Samantha, just because I’m not sure Catrall would have come back just to get offed. JMO.

Jermetria - April 24, 2008 06:33 PM (GMT)
OOOH! I forgot about the dropping of the phone. That could also be why you see her racing away from the church in her wedding dress.

Jermetria - May 6, 2008 01:33 AM (GMT)
We can rest easy Big doesn't die! WEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

Spoiler Alert: Does Anyone Die In ‘Sex And The City: The Movie’?

NEW YORK, NY --

Will “Sex and the City” have a “Death in the City?” It’s been a persistent rumor in cyberspace as the buzz kicks into overdrive for the film opening later this month.

If you want the rumor to remain in play, stop reading now.

But director Michael Patrick King is ready to free us from some of our worst fears. Namely, that Mr. Big, Carrie Bradshaw’s longtime, on-and-off love played by Chris Noth, will somehow kick the bucket.

“Kill Mr. Big? I would have been chased around the planet by women with torches,” said King, who also wrote the film and produced it along with its star, Sarah Jessica Parker.

Actually, the idea of a Mr. Big death was pitched to King early on, the director said in an interview. And it’s true, he was aiming for some edge and pathos and melodrama in his script.

Just not THAT much edge, pathos or melodrama.

“I did want an emotional roller-coaster,” King said. “But my ultimate target was to make our ‘girlfriends’ — in other words, our audience — happy. And I don’t think Mr. Big dying would make them happy.”

The death rumor has led to some naughty speculation. One of the naughtiest: New York Magazine suggested that Charlotte, the pretty and perky Park Avenue socialite, could be killed in a freak tennis accident.

So does anybody die? No plot spoilers here. But King, whose movie opens in late May, offered this answer.

“It’s a summer movie,” he said. “Why would I want to kill anyone?”

Cheryl - May 6, 2008 02:50 AM (GMT)
I don't trust this bastid. See what writers like McT and B&E have done to me? I can't trust any of them anymore. Big may not die, but dammit, something isn't right that's for sure.

phyllisshnell - May 6, 2008 04:34 AM (GMT)
LOL. Big won't die. How else will they be able to do a sequel?

donna515 - May 15, 2008 08:08 PM (GMT)
Bumping this because I got my new Vogue today, and it's full of the most gorgeous pictures of SJP and CN by Annie Leibovitz. The clothes from the film look to be incredible, and while I haven't gotten to the story yet, there is this from Michael Patrick King:

"Everyone knows there's a big wedding moment. But no one knows what happens".

I cannot wait to see this movie.

Cheryl - May 15, 2008 08:13 PM (GMT)
Did you see the hat that SJP was wearing at the London premiere? They didn't say who designed it, but Vivienne Westwood was there and I just had to wonder if she had a hand in it.

donna515 - May 15, 2008 08:27 PM (GMT)
I haven't seen those pictures yet, but Vivienne Westwood designed Carrie's wedding dress for the movie. I'm not really a fan of Westwood, or the dress:

user posted image

I like this one much better. Apparently, in the movie, Carrie gets chosen to do a spread in Vogue, and she wears this Vera Wang:

user posted image

I do like the bold colors of the bridesmaids dresses. And there's another shot in here of SJP wearing this Lacroix couture thing with pearls that only she could pull off. She can wear clothes like nobody's business.

Cheryl - May 15, 2008 08:30 PM (GMT)
How much do I love you and your scanner? You just saved me about $8. lol

donna515 - May 15, 2008 08:33 PM (GMT)
Hee. I'll scan the whole thing eventually, because the pictures really are gorgeous.

That thing attached to the side of Carrie's head, and the bustline of that dress are typical fugly Westwood. She says the dress is 'like pushing a cream puff through a keyhole' Whatever. Fug. I'm shocked it's not tartan plaid.
