Ricky Paull Goldin Scrubs In as AMC's Jake Martin Well that didn't take long. Ricky Paull Goldin, who it was only recently announced is exiting Guiding Light when his deal runs out later this month, has been cast on All My Children in the contract role of Dr. Jake Martin.
Jake, of course, is the younger brother of Tad, and in his last two incarnations was played by Michael Lowry and J. Eddie Peck's impeccable hair. Jake's love interests have included Liza, Gillian and (of course) Greenlee.
Goldin, who cut his daytime teeth on Another World back in the day, is expected to make his AMC debut by the end of April. — Matt Webb Mitovich

Goldin Is AMC's New Jake!
Ricky Paull Goldin, who is leaving GL after a seven-year run, won't be on the unemployment line for long: AMC has confirmed that he is headed to Pine Valley as the new Jake Martin! Jake, last played by J. Eddie Peck from 2000-03, will be back on-screen by April, says a show rep. For the Jake uninitiated: The character is Tad's brother, a doctor, and has a romantic past with Greenlee.
When he said on his message board that he wouldn't be away from the small screen for long he wasn't lying! I just wish they'd bring on more females. AMC is already male cast heavy.

Well, I don't know anything about this guy, so I'm glad you guys have a high opinion of him--that gives me hope that he won't suck! Yay! I wonder what they'll do with Jake's storyline though? Um, maybe we can have him develop a relationship with Josh? I want to get CE back on my screen!

I haven't watched him either, but I am happy that people who are fans of his thinks so highly of him. I've watched a few of his scenes on You Tube and think he's very talented.
I'm looking forward to another talented actor coming onto the show. I'm just hoping right now, that he doesn't come with "demands" that AMC feels they must honor at the expense of the other established actors and the established characters and relationships on the show.
I don't think that's the case here, but because of what's happened in the past, I have to put my concerns out there.
