Ryan's hope on 'AMC': Love'll jog his memory
By CAROLYN HINSEY
Ryan sweet-talks his way into Kendall's room today on "All My Children," but he won't like what he finds.
"Ryan had a flash of memory involving Kendall, so he got on a plane and flew all the way to L.A. to confront her," says Cameron Mathison, whose character is suffering from a touch of amnesia. "He woos the girl at the front desk to get the room number and just races up. Why he doesn't try to call Kendall again a few more times, I don't know. I guess he's on a mission."
A mission to reunite with Kendall, because he thinks it's four years ago.
"Ryan bursts in the door and finds Kendall rolling around on the bed with Aidan and two empty bottles of champagne," says Mathison. "They aren't kissing or anything, but they look pretty comfortable. As much as he loves Kendall and wants to be with her, he knows she's married to Zach. But then here she is rolling around with Aidan! So he confronts her about it."
Kendall insists that nothing is going on with her bodyguard, but Ryan is "still suspicious," says Mathison. "Then Kendall sneaks away from Aidan to be with Ryan. They talk about old times. The scenes are really loose and charming and fun. The goal is to open up some old memories, but it doesn't happen that way, which is much better for this crazy amnesia story line. Ryan is truthfully using Kendall as a friend to try and get his memory back. The relationship they have now is purely to try to generate memories. It's not just him staring at her and being obsessed with her all the time, even though he does look like a totally inappropriate stalker."
Especially to Zach.
"It's pretty understandable that Zach is suspicious of Ryan right now," says Mathison. "Cognitively, he has let her go in his mind. But in his heart, he is still really confused. He knows he has to leave this woman alone, and he is. Coming out of [being shot], he was really confused and probably a bit annoying to everybody, but now he understands. It doesn't mean it feels right, though."
Especially not to Ryan's wife, Annie, who is p.o.'d that he remembers Kendall but not her, and doubly p.o.'d when she finds out that he flew to L.A. to see Kendall.
"Annie has had it," says Mathison. "Ryan's just like, 'Well, I'm trying.' Hopefully, his new plan of action will make everybody happy."
That "plan" kicks in the following week, but it does not bode well that it's Greenlee's idea.
"I haven't shot any of that yet, but it looks pretty funny on paper," says Mathison. "Funny in a good way," he quickly clarifies.

Why do I get the feeling that if Zach were to show up he would have to knock to get into Kendall's room.
Why doesn't her door lock??
SWEET KENDALL
PLEASE LOCK YOUR DOOR

That's my feeling too. Why is her door not locked? This is just lame every hotel I have stayed at now days have doors that lock when you close them. This hotel is probably a high end hotel in LA not some flea bag hotel. It's just dumb plot driven writing. Ugh this is so frustrating.
CHris
Doesn't he con the desk clerk into giving him the key? I remember reading that somewhere.

I don't think AMC knows what "funny in a good way" means. It's not in their dictionary.
