Title: "Why do we feel so guilty....."
Cheryl - April 4, 2008 06:33 PM (GMT)
Well I wasn't expecting the reveal to be that blantantly obvious. I was hoping TPTB would realize we didn't need to be smacked upside the head with it, but oh well.
Kendall feels guilty for numerous reasons: one, being Zach of course, and two, her family. Yesterday, I would have listed Greenlee as number three. But after today, I'm not so sure. Thank goodness Greenlee is ruining this relationship with Aidan on her own at the moment, but I'm sure down the road, the K/A reveal will be the final nail in the Graidan coffin and Kendall will of course be to blame.
The Jesse and Angie scenes were lovely. The use of flashbacks today were fantastic and I didn't see them as filler. I haven't seen flashbacks used that well since Zach and Kendall recounted the history of their love story.
And today was worth watching simply to see Lucci in a pink velour track suit and baseball cap. Shocking. LOL

It's funny, but I'm so happy and grateful that Zach showed Ryan all about his ugly past, not just because it was nice to see Zach put Ryan in his place, and not just because we've gotten some hot Zen fights and excellent discussions (and terrific makeup kisses) out of it, but because it really has proven to be a pivotal moment for Rylee, as Greenlee herself said. Her heart is breaking for Ryan and she is the only one who can help him. Good for you, kid. Go get your man, and keep him far away from Kendall.
Greenlee called Zach a jerk today. Does this mean her hero worship of Zach is being toned down? If so, that's okeydokey with me.
I won't criticize Kendall for looking for Ryan. I'd rather she'd stayed home and played with her boys, but she'd gotten good news about Erica, Zach wasn't home and she was concerned that Ryan was hurting and (IMO) that Greenlee was going to do the wrong thing. I'm pretty happy that Greenlee knew where to find Ryan, and Kendall didn't. Rylee is alive and well, and Rendall is dead.
But I continue to feel that Kendall is out of place in this story: Aidan's finding out that Greenlee doesn't love him after all, Greenlee's looking for Ryan, Annie's not remembered by the man she loves, and Kendall? Well, she's loved by her husband and in love with him, and on the outside of other people's problems, looking in. The scenes today at Annie's home went on too long and seemed odd to me, except their sole purpose was the very obvious "OMG" reaction from Annie when Aidan talked about his guilt and Kendall's.
Still, I'll overlook it and have a high tolerance for plot-driven storytelling if it's all leading to progress in Zendall's story.

Aiden drunk did not do it for me. All it did was make it harder to understand him. Kendall's coming to Annie's apartment looking for Ryan was also lame. Didn't Ryan tell Kendall and Zach that Annie threw him out. All contrived BS, but I am glad that the stupid "grief sex" is finally coming to light and we can begin with the healing process for both Zach and Kendall. Seeing Kendall's guilty face on a daily basis and constantly hearing her and Aiden discussing it was becoming redundant and boring. It is rather laughable that after months of Kendall and Aiden discussing their guilt at every public place possible, it would be jealous bitch Annie that overhears it in her apartment and then probably blabs it to Zach.
I'm glad that before Kendall left to talk to Ryan we saw her talking to Spike. It made it quite clear that Kendall's concern for Ryan was the fact that he was Spike's father. Greenlee's concern on the other hand is very personally motivated. Some history is being re-written where they are concerned, but as long as it keeps them away from Zach and Kendall, I'm fine. Zach did Ryan a big favor by making him face reality about his abusive past. At some point in time Ryan may even become tolerable as long as the writers stop making him the center of PV's universe. Right now his amnesia is getting tiresome and all consuming for too many characters.
Once the big reveal comes out, at least Kendall's character will hopefully be released from the Ryan obsession. Kendall will be too busy keeping her family together and making it up to Zach for the hurt she will be causing him by not trusting in their love and telling him about the "grief sex" sooner.
Angie and Jessy's story is beginnig to stagnate. I understand their love for each other, but the repetative scenes and dialog are coming over as overly sweet and not that believable. Considering that they were separated for 20 years, there should have been a period of getting to know each other again, and reconnecting before these overdone love scenes. That seems to be a continuing problem on AMC. Throw people together and expect the audience to accept them. Zach and Kendall should be their example of what works. A relationship that has developed and grown over several years, not days.

Was it just me? Did anyone else find Kendall referring to Ryan as "Daddy Ryan" instead of just "Daddy" interesting? :innocent

I felt the same way and posted on another board. I'll sit through anything at the point just to get the stupid grief sex out. It's bugging me that this plot is still driving Kendall's story.
I've turned into Zach I think. LOL I've reached my boiling point with Ryan and his story. While I tolerated it before. I flat out hate it now. Today's scenes reminded me of the days Sabine during Crash when Greenlee was crawling up the ledge to her cell phone. It was overkill in trying to redeem a character. It's backfiring with me big time.

Where it was not said today.....what I gathered from Kendall (aside from Annie needing to hear that Aidan and Kendall have a secret), was that Kendall will realize what she has with Zach.
And I'm also wondering if when Zach makes a decision (whatever that may be) about his and Kendall's future....it will be about them concentrating on them.
Kendall saw two of her friends (in her mind Aidan and Annie are her friends) in a lot of pain. Though Kendall has this secret, in some ways, I took her and Zach's disagreements this week, as well as these scenes and whatever happens next week with Zach, as a positive step for Zen.
Kendall and Zach are not confused about their feelings or who they want to be with - they know. For them, it has been and always will be about each other. The problems that exist with Aidan, Annie, Ryan and Greenlee - they cannot fix and really cannot interfere.
I believe Kendall knows exactly what is happening here....and really, there is nothing she can do to stop it.
But she can focus on her marriage and family. As plot driven as today was....I do think it has positives for Zen.
What Zach and Kendall have is amazing. They are friends, they are parents and they are husband and wife. They do trust each other more than anyone and I think that is why Zen will make it through the ONS reveal. They actually have a foundation for each other.
Kendall doesn't want to hurt Zach and part of her guilt I believe, was about her desire to tell him the truth. She's said that a few times.
Aidan has not wanted to tell Greenlee the truth says something about them...

I do think that Kendall sees what is happening, this time rather than her it's both Aiden and Annie that are going to be devastated by Greenlee and Ryan.
It's hard for me to feel sorry for Aiden, as he and Greenlee have only really been together since August he is rushing into this marriage idea. That was the biggest problem with the ONS other than it being so OOC for Kendall. Aiden and Greenlee hadn't been together long enough for him to be as devastated as Kendall, he should have come to his senses and stopped them both from doing something they would regret.
I hated the way Annie treated Kendall today, Kendall was just trying to be a friend and Annie didn't seem to really appreciate that fact.
I love MCE, and I don't want to hate Annie I hope they fix her soon.
Kendall looked beautiful today.
I was wondering why Rachel fixed a bottle for Spike who will be 2 soon.

Annie, has blamed Kendall from the beginning.......Aidan, well he's just an Idiot, and him thinking he had anything with Greens, much less thinking it would translate into a future, proves he knew nothing of who Greens is and that he knows nothing when it comes to women.......Kendall, I saw how helpless she felt for Annie and Aidan....and it just speaks to how much she cares for others.....but, I so want her to Kick Annie"s hide, soon.........

Annnie has blamed Kendall from the beginning - but she should wake up and see who her friend is. Kendall's been trying to push Ryan to Annie and has encouraged him to talk with her.
Annie is too caught up in her own stuff to see that.
Aidan and Greenlee were rushed - absolutely. But I think that is also the difference in Greenlee's. SS's Greenlee actually worked with Aidan, RB's doesn't. I see that more and more now.
Once upon a time - I was an Aidan fan and I liked the Aidan / Kendall friendship. The Aidan I saw on the night of the ONS - is not an Aidan that I recognized and to me, that was also OOC for him. But...Aidan's treatment of Kendall up to that point, the fact that he lied about what Greenlee did do and then had the audacity to want to see Kendall and Zach punished changed my opinion of Aidan greatly.
Aidan is AMC's number one loser in love.
As a viewer, I don't feel sorry for him - but through Kendall's eyes, I think she does feel sad for both Annie and Aidan. She does care for both of them and yes, she knows exactly what is happening.
I think Kendall believes that neither Annie or Aidan deserve the hurt.
This just shows how compassionate and selfless Kendall is. Still..Zach is the only one who really sees it.

So true... Ryan "claims" to see it, but only when he's trying to get her into bed.
