Title: When is it going to be alright again?
Jules - April 22, 2008 06:49 PM (GMT)
JMO, but I prefer to think that AMC started at 1:05pm. The first five minutes of the show were lost in perpetuity, never to be seen again. At least, that's what I tell myself so I don't have to go to therapy.
Zen: Short scenes, but good scenes. I will pay AMC $5,000 if they stop having Kendall wake up alone after a nightmare. Enough, please. I want to see Zen wake up together, but I guess we're not there yet. Still, who can blame Kendall for being upset over last night's lying festival? As for Zach, here's what I saw. Yes, he's very calm and quiet about it all, but the man touched the base of her neck and played with her nightgown strap, and said a genuine "I love you", which 24 hours earlier, he couldn't say. It's progress, done slowly. Their scenes were excellent. I liked how Kendall asked when it would all be OK between them again, and Zach told her to trust in them. Again, that was sincere. He's not avoiding her or saying things he doesn't mean.
Kerica: Best part of today, IMO. Kendall was able to open up to her mom, and Erica said all the right things: be patient, trust Zach, he'd do anything for you, put your marriage first, screw Greenlee (said more politely than that), Zach's a good man. It's not just that it's good to hear Erica praise Zach. For me, the ultra nice touch is that Erica has never had a husband or a lover who understood when she had sex with another, and this must have shocked the hell out of her, to hear how Zach reacted. Right on, Erica. Zen are showing you how it's done.
I also have to cite that Erica told Kendall to get over her guilt with Greenlee because of what Greenlee did to Kendall's family. Thanks for remembering, Erica!
Zach/Greenlee: The only reasons why today wasn't nauseating are, IMO: (1) TK/Zach didn't want to be there, from the body language, to the dig about pole dancing, to the evasive answers; (2) this friendship has a lifespan of a fruitfly, and the clock is ticking--when Greenlee praised Zach for "being straight" with her a few days back makes me think she's going to lose her itty bitty mind when she realizes he wasn't straight with her about something that matters most; and (3) Zach told Greenlee that what's going on with him and Kendall can only be worked on by him and his wife. Sayonara, bitch. You and your fiancee can keep your noses out of Zen's business from now on.
And I have a #4: I thought, at the end of the episode, that Zach felt sorry for Greenlee. She is an object of pity, and that's OK with me.

AMC is so getting my therapy bills for pulling that ish in the beginning.
I really liked the Kerica stuff. I was cheering on Erica and she was being a good mama bear to K. Props to her for remembering what Greenlee did. Everyone else seems to have forgotten in their rush to declare her a saint.
Zachlee's clubhouse meeting bored me, and I really spent the whole time trying to figure out what the hell was on Greenlee's shirt. A banana peel? Is that the official pin of Ryan's Harem? Was it corn?

Jules, the first five minutes were nauseating. It made absolutely no sense for Kendall to be dreaming of Aiden touching her and then seeing Greenlee and Zach in bed with her. Another stupid plot point, which only confirms to me that B&E are still not out the door.
The Zen morning scene was very believable. Yesterday's poignant love scene confirmed just how much love there is between them depsite all the pain. This morning is another day to deal with the emotional chasm that separates them now that the secret is out. Zach's loving touches were still there and his "I love you" was sincere. Kendall however is still lost in a maze of guilt, both for the way she feels she betrayed her husband and feels incapable of taking away his pain and unfortunately concerned about a friend who doesn't deserve one second of her devotion.
Zach keeps reassuring Kendall that they are going to be OK. I do not doubt his sincerity, however I think that it is more of him wanting for everything to be OK rather than being convinced that it will be. Someone has to assure and convince him. Since Kendall is lost in her own world of guilt and self loathing, Erica would be the only one who could make Zach believe in himself and his ability to forgive and begin to trust their relationship again.
Zach needs to vent the anger that is seething within him. IMO he is afraid to let it out in front of Kendall, seeing how fragile and stressed she is already, for fear that he may push her away like he did after the Madden burial. Both are moving forward slowly and are realizing that love is not enough to keep a marriage together.
What I am enjoying is the writing and the acting. The interaction between Zach and Kendall is painful to watch, but it is real and believable and so far the privacy of this difficult relationship crisis has been preserved. Greenlee's irritating character has been buzzing around it, but thank heavens she is being held at arms length so far by both Zach and Kendall and the writers. I hope it continues.
Erica's conversation with Kendall today was beautifully written. Her admiration and respect for Zach and Kendall's marriage and her trust and belief in her son-in laws love and devotion for her daughter is admirable. Poor Kendall is so emotionally embattled with her own feelings of guilt and her fear of having inflicted so much pain on Zach, that she looked like she was ready to break apart. At least Erica is able to get through to her and reassure her of Zach's love and that she should forgive herself for a mistake, not a betrayal. Erica's insistence not to be concerned about Greenlee, because of all the pain she has inflicted on Kendall and her family, was like a breath of fresh air. At least there is someone else on the canvas that sees Greenlee for who she really is.
Now to Zach's conversation with GB. I think that frienship like Jules said has the lifespan of a fruitfly. I totally enjoyed how Zach answered her nosy inquisitive questions and am looking forward to the fall out when Queen ME realizes that both Zach and Kendall have kept the secret from her and have stayed together strengthening their marriage. She has no clue what it is to be committed to only one person in your life and love them unconditionally. Aiden is in for a rude awakening and he so deserves it. I just fear what pain she will inflict on Kendall when she finds out.

I am glad to know that I am not the only one who wondered what the hell that was on the front of Greenlee’s shirt. I thought it looked like a banana peel. But knowing AMC you most likely hit the nail on the head with it being the "official pin of Ryan's Harem". After all AMC revolves around Ryan and Greenlee 95% of the time.

That first scene today was downright traumatic. When I first saw the Zen bedding I went "YAY!" Then when I saw the hand I went "Ugh" because I knew sure as anything that hand belonged to Aidan.
I thought Kendall would wake up screaming and Zach would be there, but on no, that was just the beginning of the nightmare that almost brought up my lunch.
Lish ~ if you are reading this, you need to take that sage stick and go wave it around that bed. Lots of negativity in that sucker. Better yet, light that sage and just throw it in the covers and let that baby go up in flames. Tell props not to worry. Crys can throw up a paypal link and we'll buy you a new one. All shiny and pretty and new! lol
Erica was fab today. She said all the right things today.
Even Aidan and Jack were amusing, probably because I fondly remember my soon-to-be-hubster preparing to go do the same thing. I think he would have preferred death at one point. LOL
Then there was Zach and Greenlee. Ugh. But that's okay. It will make me enjoy the blow up that much more. Hee!

I know, me too. LOL
Note to AMC I get that you that that Zach and Greenlee is any form is a tough sell for the audience which is why you feel the need to keeping explaining about their time in the bunker and how hard it is to talk to anyone else about it so they talk to each other. Thanks for the explanation. I got it, it's still a tough sell. It still makes no sense to me. Cut your losses, have Zach talk to his real friends, [Myrtle, Josh, maybe even his wife]; have Greenlee actually make some new "friends" and move on.
It's bordering on ridiculous. You almost have me completely back, don't lose me again.
P.S. I'm so glad I missed that first scene. LOL

I agree with everyone's posts today, I too loved loved Erica today, I wanted to jump up and down during her conversation with Kendall today she truly said all the right things that I've been wanting someone to say for SO long! Go Erica! Can't wait for tomorrow too!
Cheryl- LMAO - your comment about the sage stick to Lish -too funny!

 Me too Des! I had no clue what that was & it just looked like something dead. The 1st 5 min. were just Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice all over again. Now I realize I've totally dated myself, but that's what it was. I could see a slight smirk on TK's face when his head popped up at the end. I can only imagine the guffawing that was done in that ridiculous bed! I did love Kerica & Kendall just had me in tears. She is heartbreaking. Erica was so spot on & I loved what she told Kendall about Zach & I loved what she said about Greenlee. That's the one thing they're getting right. Aidan with his notes was pathetic. I am so ready for fiyah!

ICAM with everybody! You guys have nailed it. My typing's a little easier, so this'll be a little longer (two hands now, just not all fingers all the time. . .)
Kendall's NIGHTMARE - ICK! ACK! UGH! EEEEWWWWWW! Quelle cauchemar!!!! As if she doesn't suffer enough guilt and disgust to deal with in her waking hours! WTF?!?!
Zach/DFS - That self-serving bitch needs to step the hell off!!! So very wrong in so very many ways. Zach did look bored as hell to me, and he'd have to be deaf, dumb, and blind not to see what a conniving slut DFS is--and we all know that his powers of perception are in fine form these days. TK rocked it.
DFS needs to die!!! And not just die, but also have an autopsy performed on her fetid corpse (thus preventing any "I'm really alive" return from the dead crap), and then there should be some sort of exorcism to rid said fetid corpse of the demon that inhabits it (thus preventing any "I'm a ghost with unfinished business" return from the dead crap, since she has no soul and all).
Kendall/Erica - Loved, loved, loved them! Vive la Kane! I loved her take on lying to DFS. I laughed out loud--practically a cackle. AM is just ripping my heart out.
2x4/Jackass - Seriously?! Could that have been any lamer? They make me wanna hurl.
GO TEAM SLATER!!!
P.S. The words "best friend" and/or "BFF" should never again be used in any sentence in which DFS's name, or a pronoun referring to her, is spoken. That's just Effed up with a capital "E"!!! (That last line works better out loud, but you get the idea.)

Okay, I had to pick myself up off the floor after the first 5 minutes or so. I passed out cold. It was horrific and traumatic. Ugh.
Erica rocked today. She was really what Kendall needed and it just filled my heart. Lish is really selling Kendall's love for Zach and it is yummy to see.
Zach/ kidnapping, baby-maiming bitch---- pass the Pepto. I can't wait for the complete bull**** that is that contrived, ridiculous "friendship" to blow sky high. It is a joke to have those two act as if Zach could tolerate her even in a bomb shelter. Not after how she has treated Kendall over and over again. Not after what she did last summer. No way. Nope.
Ready for the fire!

Word to the Nth degree, yo. I just watched the clip and I almost jumped out of my skin. Kendall had the nightmares to end all nightmares. The only thing that would have made it worse, Annie and Ryan showing up in that sucker. *throws salt over shoulder*
Yep, I'm all for burning the bed now. Let me know when its time to throw up the link. lol
