Title: Memories still haunt...
Diva - April 29, 2008 08:15 PM (GMT)
Zach's behavior is confusing. He told Kendall that he is never leaving her and he apologized for having left her in the hospital after their argument, however his words to Josh yesterday about thinking that he had moved past certain issues, but is finding that he hasn't, was puzzling. I think that he has forgiven Kendall, but he has a problem forgetting what happened in the cabin. It appears that he is directing his anger at Aiden, but what I think the writing is saying, is that the burning of the cabin isn't enough to erase memories of what happened. Only time can do that and perhaps some dramatic events in their lives where they both begin to realize that their trust issues have finally been resolved.
I believe that Zach is sending Aiden to Africa for legitimate reasons and not for revenge. Aiden has accepted being head of security at Cambias and the present crisis warrants a man that has experience and Special Ops training.
I don't think it is only Zach that is having problems erasing memories. I think that Kendall as well is not completely over her guilt issues. I think being around Greenlee and knowing that they are keeping the ONS secret from her is still very much on her mind.
I loved SL's performance today. It was very sensitive and very realistic of someone in solitary confinement. I especially thought that the ladybug scene was very well written and very well done.
The Hubbard family scenes were sweet, but I just want them to start moving beyond Jesse's 20-year absence.
Great to see DC as haunted Adam, but this Dixie ghost story is not appealing to me yet. I guess since I'm not a fan of Dixie's after her last return, I look at this ghostly haunting with reservation. If it brings closure to the Tad/Kathy story I will be happy.

Hmm.....I do think in part Zach is sending Aidan to Darfur for professional reasons, but at the same time, yes, I don't think Zach will really care if Aidan doesn't come home.
Zach has to do something with the anger he feels inside of him - Kendall knows that for Zach to see Aidan everyday will hurt him, but Zach is not listening to that. I think he has very much forgiven Kendall, where things are not perfect, they are better, but he has not forgiven Aidan.
Aidan certainly has not shown any sign of grief or sorrow around Zach - only arrogance.
Kendall knows Zach....and I think her asking him today to reconsider sending Aidan is her way of protecting Zach. She does not want him to do something that he could potentially regret.
Another sign that Aidan / Greenlee will not make it - Aidan thought Greenlee would understand that he had to go, Kendall knew right away that Greenlee would not let him.
I enjoyed seeing Zach / Kendall together....and the fact that Zach looked happy to see his wife. I'm also happy to see that Kendall is with Zach and Greenlee tomorrow.
Loved seeing Josh and Kendall. I want to see more of them!
Erica was fantastic. Glad Carmen called Jack.
JR pissed me off today. He attacked Adam for not believing him when he said he was kidnapped and set up, yet he goes after Adam because he thinks he is trying to play games with his head about Dixie?
Adam was great today and so was Colby.
The Hubbard scenes I watched......still seems unrealistic to me.

TK made a deliberate acting choice in Zach's scenes with Kendall, when she first arrived at Cambias. He had Zach speak very quickly to Kendall, telling her there's no agenda, he's the best man for the job, they burned down the house, they've put it behind them, etc.
As soon as I heard how fast Zach said those words, I knew he wasn't telling Kendall the whole truth. I have to say, I love that TK's that subtle an actor that that's how he has Zach clue in the audience as to what's going on.
I love that Zach has a few reasons to send Aidan on this mission. Dark Zach rocks my world.
I liked the Kendall/Josh scenes, but I continue to feel that Josh is filler, and it's frustrating. Wouldn't it be better to see Josh visit Erica, rather than have him talk to Kendall about Erica? I'm also very glad that Kendall didn't share her recent marital problems with Josh. I love that this is just between Zach and Kendall, and I loved the look Zach gave Kendall when Greenlee stormed into his office. It's nice for Greenlee to be odd chickie out for a change. And I loved that Kendall knew exactly how Greenlee would react, and was dead on right, while Zach never gave it much of a thought.
Cassandra is good so far, but they'd better stop having her drop the French words here and there to remind us she's lived in Paris. Big whoop. Y&R's Sabrina does that, and it makes me want to scream.

Great post Jules & yes Dark Zach rocks my world, too! Kick-ass, take charge, take no prisoners Zach is HAWT! I have to say that I didn't pick up on the subtle change in acting choice for Zach & I will rewatch my clip to check that out, because to me, something was clearly amiss & I couldn't put my finger on it. But if that's what TK was doing, then it makes sense. I had the feeling that while Zach isn't deliberately setting out to cause Aidan's demise, he subconsciously would probably relish it & Kendall knows that. I think she is trying to protect Zach. Kendall was gorgeous today & her hair had a softer, more feminine look to it for me. Almost a Lauren Bacall look to it.
Erica was awesome & this was great stuff! Greenlee irritated me more than usual in her convo with Jackson.

Well, there were a few annoying moments, I found myself laughing all through today's episode--and in a good way!
Chandlers - Hee, hee, hee . . .ghost Dixie is cracking me up! JR vs. Adam is getting old again--that doesn't take long, does it? Colby's good. Hope there's not weirdness with the recast coming up.
Hubbards - They were fun today, and yesterday too. Cassandra needs to refrain from squealing, needs to not be too touchy/feely with her brother, and her French accent--bon dieu, j'ai mal a la tete! Mes pauvres oreilles! Other than that, though, I like her so far. She's a far better actress than I expected from a model. Another wedding for Jangie? Eeesh. Oh well, somebody had to get married for May sweeps, I guess, and we all know Graidan ain't gonna make it down the aisle! Ha!
Jackass/DFS - Gag. Just GAG. A blank check for little miss trust fund? Yeah, money/diamonds/houses=love for DFS. She has no idea what real love is. She and Jackass are disgusting.
Erica - Poor Erica! I mean, it's a little soon to be going quite so batty, but I feel for her. I wish she would have had a daydream with Josh in it too though. I mean, even Binks got a mention. Liked the ladybug convo. Erica just rules. That warden isn't gonna know what hit her when all's said and done.
Kendall/Josh - Long Lost Josh!!! Yippee! How I've missed him, and now two whole days in a row!!! He and Kendall are great. In a way I wish he knew what was going on with Zen, but I want Zach to tell him if he finds out, since Zach told Kendall to keep her mouth shut. Yeah, Erica knows, but she already knew, so that doesn't count. I love seeing Kendall and Josh together again. Query: where the hell does Josh live now?!?!
Zach/2x4 - *cackling mischievously* How much am I loving this? Ooh, let me count the ways. Yesterday was beyond awesome in Tad's office, and today continued the trend. 2x4 sure loosens his tie a lot lately, no? Hee, hee, hee. He's so clueless! Zach's so deliciously dark right now. It hurts that he's still hurting, but I love watching 2x4 sweat. I hope he doesn't get hurt in Darfur (as that would only give Kendall yet more guilt), but if he were to say, I don't know, contract some hideous disease and spread it to his babynapping skank-whore of a fiance--something that kills them slowly and painfully, preferably with boils and sores that make quarantining them imperative--that would be fine with me.
Zendall - Sigh. They're so fantastic. I'm glad that it was totally obvious that Kendall wasn't so much concerned about 2x4 as concerned about Zach's feelings regarding 2x4, and by extension, 12/19 and her. I don't like to see them hurting, but I think they're really moving in the right direction. They both looked great today too. How is it possible for people to be that beautiful? I also liked that they were really talking today--keeping the lines of communication open is definitely a good thing. Hopefully, Kendall will put the smack down on DFS tomorrow to defend Zach's decision.
GO TEAM SLATER!!! :yay

Dark Zach is delicious.
I am very concerned, however, that the writers will not allow good follow through on this. I know the 2 x 4 is at Cambias for a reason. I hope it is for a major, major smackdown from Zach. I just have a sinking feeling that it won't happen. Can't pinpoint why exactly. Just a feeling I have. Perhaps the fact that B & E suck?
Please, AMC writers, if you don't get this one right....you will look like complete fools.

ranger, JMO, but I think AMC is going to save the major smackdown for Greenlee to deliver to Grubby Hands, which I'm sure will be fun, but Zach needs to get his $.02 in as well.
I keep thinking of TK's interviews in SID when I watch AMC nowadays--there have to be changes in Zen's relationship and in how Zach relates to people now. He has to be more internal-thinking because that's who he is. He told us months ago that Zach would go dark, and he told us when he was interviewed by SOD when Zach first found out about the ONS that this story would be dark. Sounded like he didn't have any problem with it at all, and neither do I. :D

Thanks for your input, Jules. Bottom line for me is that I have this sinking feeling that the "darkness" won't come in the form and fashion I believe the character (Zach) would take. I just can't imagine Zach letting Aidiot off the hook with this. Ever. However, if TK sees it coming then I will hang in there.
Anxious for the nominations this morning.
